Due to limitations resulting from the global COVID-19 pandemic:
- The only open entrance to the library is from the Miller Nichols Learning Center.
- The library is limited to individual work. Study rooms may be reserved for one person.
- The number of available computers has been reduced to ensure social distancing. Students can connect to a computer remotely through Roo Labs Online.
- Computers and printing are not available for guest use at this time.

Ground Floor: Quiet Conversation
Getting Help
Assistance is available at the Music/Media Library Service Desk.
Study Spaces
Room G1 is located to the west of the Music/Media Service Desk and may be reserved online. Minimum group size is 2 people and it accommodates up to 12 people. Same-day reservations only. Room G2 is a study room with door for 1-4 people and may also be reserved online. Great for online class presentations and Skype interviews. Table & chairs only. No monitor or white board. Maximum of 2 hours per group per day for reservations.
Open Spaces
Located throughout the Ground Floor with multiple individual study spaces that include tables, chairs, and vending machines near the Marr Sound Archives. Wall outlets are available throughout the floor. Open study spaces are not reservable.

Patrons using Music/Media collections have priority use in the Listening/Viewing Lab, which includes:

Study Spaces & Presentation Practice Rooms
Rooms are located on the northwest side of the floor and may be reserved online. These rooms can accommodate groups of 2 to 8 people.
Open Spaces
Located throughout the first floor with multiple collaborative study spaces: pods, rooms, tables, booths, and couches. Wall outlets are available throughout the floor. Open study spaces are not reservable. The iX Theatre is available for reservation (not as a study room) by calling (816) 235-1531.
Technology
Food
The Robot Café serves coffee, cappuccinos, and lattes from The Roasterie, as well as smoothies, sandwiches, snacks, and salads. They also offer freshly prepared sushi daily!
Academic Support
The Writing Studio provides assistance with any aspect of your writing from class assignments to personal projects.
Reserving Miller Nichols Learning Center classroom and foyer space
Classroom space as well as the foyer of the Miller Nichols Learning Center may be reserved for other meetings once the classroom schedule is set for the semester. Faculty and staff should email Registrar Scheduling to request a room reservation. Include the date, start time, end time, and approximate attendance expected. Students should work with the Office of Student Involvement when they need to reserve a room.
2nd Floor: Quiet Conversation
Getting Help
Assistance is available at the Lab Assistant Station. The Administrative Offices are also located on this floor.
Study Spaces & Presentation Practice Rooms
A glass-walled study room is located on the west side of the floor and can accommodate groups of 2 to 12 people. This space is equipped with wall-mounted white boards and markers, rolling white boards, and tables appropriate for group or individual study.
Open Spaces
There are multiple spaces suitable for collaborative or individual studying. Carrels, tables, booths, and couches are located throughout the floor. Open study spaces are not reservable.

The LaBudde Special Collections and University Archives are located on this floor.

Both groups and single study spaces are available on this floor.
Open Spaces
Room 325 is available for reservation (not as a study room) by calling (816) 235-1531. The Richard L. Sutton, Jr. Geosciences Museum holds a scientific collection of mineral and fossil specimens. The museum is open to the public during regular Miller Nichols Library hours.
4th Floor: Silent

This floor is equiped with many study carrels, armchairs, couches, single desks, and group study tables throughout.
Technology
The Interactive Learning Center (ILC) is located on this floor. Equipped with staff and many computer stations, this Math Lab and Biology studio is available to students in Math, Biology 108 and Biology 109. Wireless internet is also available on this floor.
