Saxophone Supreme: The Life & Music of Charlie Parker
Miller Nichols Learning Center Foyer | Now through December, 2024

The story of Charlie “Bird” Parker – saxophonist, composer, pioneer of the Bebop revolution in Jazz, and Kansas City native – is told in 12 parts in this exhibit on display now through the end of December, 2024 in the foyer of the Miller Nichols Learning Center on the UMKC campus.

“Saxophone Supreme: The Life & Music of Charlie Parker” was co-curated by the American Jazz Museum and Chuck Haddix, Curator of the Marr Sound Archives at UMKC Libraries. This exhibition features groundbreaking research, album covers, sheet music, and rare audio selections. Visit in person, or view the digital exhibit.
