Sandy Rodriguez, Associate Dean of Special Collections & Archives at UMKC University Libraries, has been accepted to two prestigious leadership development programs.
The Archives Leadership Institute is a program of the National Historical Publications and Records Commission that seeks to build the capacity of mid-career archivists as leaders both in their own institutions and in the archives field. The UCLA Library Senior Fellows program is a three-week intensive residential program combining management perspectives, strategic thinking and practical and theoretical approaches to the issues confronting academic libraries, preparing fellows to pursue advanced leadership roles in the field.
From 90 applications, the 25 Archives Leadership Institute participants were selected based on their exceptional leadership skills and potential, the ability to influence change within the archival field, a strong commitment to the archival profession, demonstrated professional organizational involvement and service, a collaborative and innovative spirit, and representation and/or support of diversity within the profession.
