Learning Modules
Research Essentials encourages online learning with a curriculum of custom modules. This provides three levels of instruction on information literacy concepts ranging from the information publication cycle, to strategies for locating academic sources using library resources, to discovering information created by local organizations.
- Students in face-to-face General Education sections complete the online modules prior to their library instruction session. This allows the instruction program to rely on the flipped classroom model to impart information literacy concepts through video, interactive components, and quizzes before utilizing classroom time to practice hands-on application.
- Online and hybrid sections of General Education receive their instruction via the same curriculum of online learning modules, which were designed to provide a thorough treatment of information literacy topics using best practices for online learning.
