Lost & Found

  • All unclaimed items like clothing, empty food containers, books, and toiletries will be kept in the lost & found box until the Sunday after the week they were found.
  • All food items that contain food will be disposed of at the end of the next day.
  • All unclaimed lunchboxes, travel mugs and thermoses will be kept for one week only and disposed of on Sunday.
  • Valuable items and items with personal information will be logged and kept at the First Floor Service Desk of the Miller Nichols Library.
  • We dispose of all valuable items after the 30-day allotted holding time, donating the items to a local charity as appropriate.
  • The Campus Police also have a lost and found.
  • Found property outside of the library is kept by the UMKC Police and at the University Center Information Desk. To check if your property has been turned in, call the Police Department at (816) 235-1515 or the Information Desk at (816) 235-5555.
