Participate in the Library User Survey

School supplies

We’re taking a survey!

The UMKC University Libraries need to hear from our users so that we can provide the services and resources you need most. We are surveying all students, staff, and faculty about how well the Libraries meet your needs in the areas of library service, library usage, collections and resources, as well as the impact of library services on your learning, teaching, and research. The LibQUAL+ survey is used by academic libraries across the country to assess user satisfaction; utilizing this survey allows us to see how we are doing in comparison to other libraries and to identify best practices.

LibQUAL is an online survey that asks library users their minimum, desired, and perceived service levels in three dimensions: Library as Place, Information Control, and Affect of Service. Since 2000, more than 1,340 libraries in 35 countries have participated in LibQUAL, including college and university, community college, health sciences, and academic law libraries. This growing community of participants and its extensive data set of more than one million completed surveys are rich resources for improving library services.

In addition to learning how satisfied our users are with library services, results of the survey will help steer deeper research into the needs of library users and inform our decision-making about library research resources, technology, and spaces.

Please share your experiences with us by completing the survey. The median response time for the survey is about 5 minutes. Click the button below, or check your UMKC email for an invitation email with a survey link. We’ll send reminders to your email, too, as we near the March 26 survey deadline.
