Kristy Steigerwalt Recognized for Outstanding Contributions

Monochrome portrait of Kristy Steigerwalt

Kristy Steigerwalt, Head of Clinical and Research Support at UMKC’s Health Sciences Library, has received an award from the Health Sciences Library Network of Kansas City (HSLNKC) in recognition of her outstanding contributions to the field and HSLNKC. Through her volunteer work, especially during the pandemic-related quarantine that shut down a great deal of the country, Kristy worked tirelessly to maintain the availability of the UMKC Health Sciences Library to students, faculty, and staff by adapting aspects of the library’s service and functions. She also volunteered her services and time to organizations like HSLNKC, providing library services, promoting health literacy, and furthering the goals of HSLNKC. Kristy was elected to serve as the Vice President/President Elect of HSLNKC for a three year term beginning in 2022. You can read more about Kristy here.
