GLAMA at 10: A Decade of Discovery

Now through April 01, 2020

Miller Nichols Library, Third Floor - Special Collections Gallery

October 10th, 2019 marked the 10th anniversary of the founding of GLAMA, the Gay & Lesbian Archive of Mid-America. The library celebrated the occasion with the opening of a new exhibit and release of a new website, both of which feature in-depth highlights of LGBT history in Kansas City. Special speakers at the event included GLAMA collection donor Lea Hopkins and UMKC student Austin Williams, Curator of Special Collections & Archives Stuart Hinds, and Dean of Libraries Bonnie Postlethwaite.

The GLAMA exhibit is located on the 3rd floor of Miller Nichols Library in the Special Collections Gallery, and will be up through spring of 2020. The GLAMA website is also now available and features a multimedia experience showcasing the rich history of the region's gay and lesbian community.
