Bailey Grim
Bailey joins the UMKC Library as the new Catalog Maintenance Specialist & Copy Cataloger in Cataloging and Resource Management. Bailey is a UMKC alum, having studied French and English as an undergraduate student here. Bailey’s professional background is primarily in public libraries. In addition to being enthusiastic about librarianship, Bailey keeps bees, enjoys creating stained glass art, growing microgreens, and keeping geese and chickens. Welcome to the UMKC Library, Bailey!
Peyton Consani
Peyton joins the UMKC Library as an Academic Fellow in Teaching and Learning. Peyton came to appreciate libraries as a history major at K-State. Working as an undergraduate at K-State’s library contributed to her love for libraries even more. Peyton is currently in their first year as a graduate student at Emporia State University in the Library Sciences program. Welcome aboard, Peyton!
Scott Powell Receives a Role Change
Scott Powell is the UMKC Library’s new Copy Cataloger and Finishing Supervisor for Cataloging and Resource management. Scott will be responsible for providing copy cataloging for all formats for Miller Nichols Library (including LaBudde Special Collections, Marr Sound Archives, and the Music/Media Library) as well as the Health Sciences Library and the Law Library. He will also supervise students in finishing materials. Scott will continue to use his expertise in copy cataloging scores for the Music/Media Library along with many other skills he has honed at UMKC Libraries since 1997. Prior to UMKC, Scott worked as a Library Assistant in the Serials Dept. at Tulane University in New Orleans. Congratulations, Scott, and here’s to continuing to work together!
