New Library Catalog

Student looking at books

The Library Catalog + Articles search on the homepage of the library website is the best place to begin your research. However, when you need to perform a detailed search of our catalog of physical items, you can now do so using the UM System Libraries Catalog.

This separate catalog tool only searches items owned and cataloged by UMKC Libraries and the other three UM System libraries (University of Missouri-Columbia, University of Missouri-St. Louis, and Missouri University of Science & Technology), excluding many of our eBook collections and all of our digital resources like online journal collections.

Search tips

After performing a search, you can limit your results by campus to see items available at UMKC, by library, or by location to choose a UMKC departmental collection.

Consult the Search Tips page in the catalog for guidance on using Boolean operators, proximity searching, or fuzzy or wildcard searches.

To place requests, view your current loans, or renew borrowed items, use the Institutional Login with your UMKC username and password.

Guests should contact the Circulation Services department for assistance with features that require a login such as placing requests.
