Miller Nichols Library

Miller Nichols Library is UMKC’s largest library and houses the general collection, Music/Media Library, LaBudde Special Collections and University Archives, and Marr Sound Archives. Wireless internet is accessible throughout the library as well as seating for individual and group study.
Ground Floor (quiet conversation)
The ground floor has multiple individual study spaces that include tables, chairs, and vending machines near the Marr Sound Archives. Wall outlets are available throughout the floor. Open study spaces are not reservable.

Technology
The Music/Media Library includes a computer lab with music notation software (Sibelus, Finale, MuseScore), color and black-and-white printing, scanners. Headphones and headphone adapters available for checkout at the Service Desk.
First Floor (regular conversation)
This floor is equipped with a series of study rooms along the North side of the building, public computers, printers, and a café. The iX Theatre and Writing Studio are both located on this floor, as well as a Service Desk, and accessible, all-gender, family-friendly restrooms. See the Service Desk for assistance.

Third Floor (quiet conversation)
This floor is home to LaBudde Special Collections and University Archives. The Digital Collaboration Studio and study rooms are to the left of the main elevator and stairs. The GeoSciences Museum and SHSMO (State Historical Society of Missouri) are to the right of the stairs and elevators. Accessible, gender-neutral restrooms can also be found on this floor.

Technology
The Digital Collaboration Studio includes an open area with mobile furniture and high-definition monitors, seminar room with video conferencing capability and digital whiteboard and two small collaboration or study rooms with high-definition monitors.
Fourth Floor (silent study)
The Fourth Floor is for silent study. It is equipped with many study carrels, armchairs, couches, single desks, and group study tables. Upon exiting the main elevators, Rooms MNL 420 and 421 are located to the left. The Dean’s Gallery and accessible, all-gender restrooms can also be found on this floor.
