New Sound Archives Listening Station

Experience music selections from our Marr Sound Archives in a new location.

The Special Collections and Archives Reading Room on the third floor of Miller Nichols Library now features two stations where you can listen to recordings from the sound archives. The station has a browsing collection of 250 albums curated from the Marr Sound Archives for listening on demand. Request additional albums at the Reading Room service desk. Drop in to listen Monday through Thursday between 9:00 am and 4:30 pm.

Our library’s special collections and archives bring together a multitude of distinctive collections, and our Reading Room is your access point for all of them.

The Special Collections and Archives Reading Room is located on the third floor of Miller Nichols Library. Reading Room hours are Monday – Thursday, 9:00 am – 4:30 pm. Visitors are welcome!

Marr Sound Archives services for researchers

The listening collection is just a fraction of the audio recordings held in the Marr Sound Archives. Any other materials may be used by request. Contact the sound archives team to make a research appointment, inquire about digitization services, or to ask your questions about the collections. When you visit the Reading Room, pick up a Mini LP! These miniaturized record sleeves serve as a contact card for the Marr Sound Archives team and feature some of the most popular, unique, or influential recordings in the collection.
