South Asia

As part of International Education Week, the UMKC Libraries are partnering with the International Student Affairs Office to host a cultural celebration focusing on countries in South Asia from which many of our international students join us: Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.

In celebration of our community of international students at UMKC, learn about cultures of South Asia through a series of speakers, performances, and authentic cuisine.

  • Dr. Sirisha Naidu: “200 Cuisines: India’s Diverse Food Cultures”
  • Dr. Andrew Granade – “Music and Experience in South Asia”
  • Live performances by UMKC international students

Join us on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 from 2:00pm – 4:30pm on the first floor of the UMKC Library in the iX Theatre as we celebrate the culture, heritage, and art of South Asia.

If you would like to contact the event planners or participate as a performer, email Fu Zhuo at zhuof@umkc.edu.
