British Periodicals consists of two separate collections, British Periodicals Collection I and British Periodicals Collection II.

British Periodicals Collection I consists of more than 160 journals that comprise the UMI microfilm collection Early British Periodicals, the equivalent of 5,238 printed volumes containing approximately 3.1 million pages. Topics covered include literature, philosophy, history, science, the fine arts and the social sciences.

British Periodicals Collection II consists of more than 300 journals from the UMI microfilm collections English Literary Periodicals and British Periodicals in the Creative Arts together with additional titles, amounting to almost 3 million pages. Topics covered include literature, music, art, drama, archaeology and architecture.

ARTbibliographies Modern (ABM) provides full abstracts of journal articles, books, essays, exhibition catalogs, doctoral dissertations, and exhibition reviews on all forms of modern and contemporary art. It includes abstracts of English and foreign-language material on famous and lesser-known artists, movements, and trends. Areas of coverage include:

The ACLS (American Council of Learned Societies) Humanities Ebooks contains a collection of over 2,200 full text titles within the fields of Humanities. The selected titles are recommended by publishers, scholars and librarians of the discipline.

The ebooks are either XML-encoded titles or scanned page-image versions. This database also provides access to reviews of works in the collection either in full text or through links to other databases.

ARTFL (American and French Research on the Treasury of the French Language) contains over 2600 French-language texts ranging from classic works of French literature to various kinds of non-fiction prose and technical writing including some 17th century, medieval and renaissance works. It was created to provide a dictionary of the French language and expanded to include a variety of materials gathered primarily from scholarly texts. The ARTFL database is one of the largest of its kind in the world. The full run of journals, beginning with the first issue of a volume, are generally available. However, the most recent three to five years of journals are usually not.

For some journals, it is now possible to search for articles in recent issues in addition to searching for past articles in JSTOR. If UMKC has a subscription to these journals, there are links to the full-text of these articles using the "Find it @ UMKC" button. To enable this feature, check the box that reads, "Search for links to articles outside of JSTOR" on the search page.

Contains full-text digital page images of virtually every work printed in England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales and British North America and works in English printed elsewhere from 1473-1700 - from the first book printed in English by William Caxton, through the age of Spenser and Shakespeare and the tumult of the English Civil War.
