First Floor Open Space

  • Accommodates groups of 2 to 15 people
  • Multiple collaborative study spaces: pods, rooms, tables, booths, and couches
  • Computers, wall outlets, and retractable, ceiling-mounted outlets
  • Wall-mounted monitors in 3 study rooms
  • White boards on tables, walls, and mobile easels
  • White board markers and erasers available at the First Floor Service Desk
  • Open study space is not reservable
  • Located throughout the First Floor

Large Study Rooms: Rooms 106A, 106F, 106G, 106H

  • Accommodate groups of 2 to 8 people
  • Wall-mounted monitor and white boards

  • Reservations may be made up to 1 week in advance
  • Reservations are for groups of 2 or more, for up to 2-hour slots and will be held until 15 minutes after the start of the reservation
  • UMKC students, staff, and faculty may reserve online
  • Located on the northwest side of the First Floor

Presentation Practice Room, Room 108-A

  • Accommodates groups of 2 to 8 people
  • Standard classroom technology set-up
  • Wall-mounted white board
  • White board markers and erasers available at the First Floor Service Desk
  • Reservations may be made up to 1 week in advance
  • Reservations are for up to 2-hour slots and will be held until 15 minutes after the start of the reservation

Third Floor MaST

Music/Media Study Room (G1)

  • Accommodates 2-12 people. Minimum group size: 2 people.
  • Audio and video playback equipment available; groups using this equipment have priority
  • Reservations may be made for 2 hours for any hours the library is open, and will be held until 15 minutes after start of the reservation.
  • UMKC students, faculty, and staff may reserve online.
  • UMKC faculty members: for longer or advance reservations, call Music/Media at 816-235-1675.
  • Located just to the west of the Music/Media Desk on the Ground Floor.

  • No conversation or group study is allowed, but typing on computers is permitted
  • Cell phones should be silenced. Talking on cell phones is not permitted, but phones may be answered and taken off the floor
  • Audio may be listened to with headphones, as long as it is inaudible to others
  • Quiet study space may not be reserved.
