Databases with full-text articles | Dictionaries, encyclopedias, etc. | Other full-text databases
An increasing number of journal articles are available in an electronic format. Once you have the citation to an article, you may need to use several methods to find if the article is available online.
Search the Merlin Library Catalog for the University of Missouri - Kansas City Libraries by Journal, Magazine and Newspaper Titles. The Merlin record for a journal may include a link to the Web version of the journal. The record will also show the location for any print copies of the journal held by the library.
Serials Solutions lists full-text journals, magazines and newspapers available through many of the databases to which the UMKC University Libraries subscribe. It also includes some journals to which the Libraries has individual subscriptions as well as many journals which are free on the Web. Listings include the journal title, links to the database or databases providing full text, and coverage.
Search for the journal title in the CUFTS Journal Search to identify databases that include the full text of articles from that journal. Access CUFTS from the Databases: Title Listing page on the Libraries' Website. UMKC Libraries do not subscribe to all the databases included in CUFTS. Check the Databases: Title Listing page on the Libraries' Website to find out which databases the Library has. Search the database indicated to find the full text of the article.
Ready Ref PN4832 .F85
This directory lists periodicals that are accessible online in full
text. For each publication, this source indicates the database in which
it is available. Miller Nichols Library does not subscribe to all the
databases included in this source. Check the Databases:
Title Listing page on the Libraries' Website to find out which
databases the Library has access to. Search the database indicated to
find the full text of the article.
If the other methods do not locate the full text of an article, try searching for a free electronic version of the journal through a search engine. In most search engines, enter the journal title in quotation marks. The Internet Search Tools page of the Libraries' Website provides links to some of the major search engines.
