Database Providers

The UMKC Libraries Website links to a number of databases and other online resources. While much of the information on the World Wide Web is free, many database providers charge a subscription fee to access their databases. The subscriptions which allow UMKC students, faculty and staff to access databases are provided through the following:

University of Missouri Electronic Resources Initiative

The University of Missouri President's Innovation Fund supports the University of Missouri Library Directors Electronic Resources Initiative (UM Electronic Resources Initiative) for three years at a cost of almost one million dollars. The University of Missouri Electronic Resources Initiative required a match from each campus and the University of Missouri Library Systems Office. The project supports system-level licensing of electronic resources such as full-text electronic journals, reference sources, and abstracting and indexing databases for the faculty, students, and staff of the four University of Missouri campuses, with remote access for authorized users. These electronic resources will be available by the end of January or early February 2005. More...
