Databases Information and Guides

The UMKC Libraries subscribe to numerous electronic resources produced by several different companies. The online databases index articles in journals, magazines, and newspapers. In addition to citations, many provide abstracts and some provide full text access to the articles. Additional paper indexes are available at each UMKC library.

Online resources may be accessed via:

• On-campus computers.
• Off campus to people who are affiliated with UMKC. To access resources from off campus UMKC students, faculty, and staff will be prompted to provide a Single Sign-On user name and password or a 9-digit UMKC ID number followed by the letter k (example: 0123456789k) and last name as needed after selecting the database title.
• Resources listed as "free on the web" are available to everyone. You do not have to be a UMKC student, faculty or staff member to use these databases.

Note that not all databases are available in each library. Check the entry for a specific database for information on where it is available. The databases are listed by subject and in alphabetical order.
