Join us on September 27th to experience the beautiful and creative handmade works of Ediciones Vigia, an independent small press publishing company located in Matanzas, Cuba. 

Jeanne Drewes, Cheif of the Binding & Collections Care Division at the Library of Congress, recently donated her personal collection of Ediciones Vigia books to the LaBudde Special Collections at UMKC. She will be here to talk about the small press community at Vigia, the books and how they are made, as well as her time and experiences during her travel to Cuba.

Cuban BookmakingThe lecture and book viewing, which starts at 6 p.m., is a way to experience the beautiful and creative handmade works of Ediciones Vigia, an indenpendent small press publishing company located in Matanzas, Cuba. Come early for a reception at 5:30 p.m. This event is free to all, but an RSVP is requested.
