    Charge to the Miller Nichols Library Task Force

    Possibility: UMKC’s Miller Nichols Library and Information Commons is a world-class prototypical learning resources facility that advances academic excellence and is an essential resource for students, faculty, staff and community.

    Outcomes:

  • create a student-oriented facility that integrates our learning resources
  • create a world-class signature facility that bridges the traditional library function with a prototypical fused-use learning environment
  • create an information commons supportive of student learning, faculty research and scholarship
  • create a physical space whose intellectual space serves as an essential learning and information resource for both the internal and external community
  • incorporate a technology-rich environment which permits access to learning resources throughout the world
  • collaborative learning experiences are encouraged and catalyzed
  • the project is set up to receive timely state support and meet Curator regulations
