Electronic reserves: Some reserve materials are available electronically through the ERes service. Faculty wishing to place items on electronic reserve should review and follow the guidelines for placing items on reserve.
Instructors wishing to place materials on reserve may use the online reserve request forms or contact the Access Services Departments (for print materials) or Music/Media Library (for sound recordings, video recordings and other nonprint media). To ensure timely processing of your print materials, please review and follow the guidelines for placing items on reserve.
Print/Media reserves: Print and media reserve materials that are housed in the Miller Nichols Library may be searched in the MERLIN Library Catalog under professor or course name.
Books, software and other print materials placed on reserve at the request of instructors are shelved behind the Access Services Desk and must be requested from a staff member at the Access Services Desk. See Overdue Materials below for information about reserve fines.
Media and music reserve materials (sound recordings, video recordings, etc.) should be requested from the Music/Media Desk on the ground floor. Materials have varying restrictions, per the instructor's request, on how long or where materials may be used, so be sure to check with the Music/Media Desk staff member on restrictions specific to your items. Reserve materials may not be renewed and accrue fines if not returned by the due date.
Overdue materials: For reserve materials designated for hourly checkout or overnight checkout, the fines are $5.00 for the first hour overdue and 25 cents per hour for each hour the library is open. All daily checkout reserve materials have a fine rate of $5.00 for the first day overdue and $1 per day thereafter.
