A service the Miller Nichols Library offers to full-time faculty members is the establishment of a proxy who can borrow books in the faculty member's name for a designated period of time. The proxy must be someone already eligible for borrowing privileges and both parties need to remain in good standing with the library in order to maintain the arrangement.
The Proxy card is used when students check out any item for their instructor; the proxy should not use their own student library account for this purpose.. The proxy is responsible for any fines or charges related to items checked out for the instructor on their own student library account .
The proxy card is VALID FOR THE CURRENT SEMESTER ONLY. If proxy checkout privileges are sought for the following semester, a new application form must be submitted. Multiple proxies may be listed on one form.
The instructor is responsible for items checked out on the proxy account . Overdue notices and bills are sent to the instructor. Overdue or billed items on the proxy account do not in any way affect the student's personal account with the library or the university.
Please ask at the Access Services Desk or call
