Located on the second floor, the Periodical Collection contains the print holdings for most of the library's magazine and journal subscriptions. The collection is organized by main entry (author or title of the publication). Special Collections, Government Publications, Microforms, and the Music/Media Library also house periodical collections. Use the MERLIN Library Catalog to determine the periodical holdings of the UMKC Libraries.

The library's paper indexes and online databases provide access to the contents of periodicals by author, title, and subject. Most paper indexes are located in the Information Commons and on the fourth floor.

The library's numerous online databases provide full text access to some articles. Online databases may be accessed through the Library's Website.

Newspapers and recent issues of some journals are located at the Access Services desk.
