What does "Free on the web" mean?

Free on the Web just means that anyone with an Internet connection is able to access the journal–regardless of his/her affiliation with UMKC. Although there are many more free medical-related on-line journals available than what is listed on our Website, the HSL only lists links to those journals that meet the following criteria:

1. The HSL owns a print subscription to the journal.
2. The UMKC libraries have approved the contact with the journal publisher to link to the free on-line version of the journal.
