Library Information at Joplin

Students are encouraged to use their local campus libraries, in order to utilize the resources placed there by the School of Nursing (SON). Your local library is Missouri Southern State University's George A Spiva Library (http://www.mssu.edu/spivalib/) 417-625-9342.

If students decide to send their requests for articles to the University of Missouri - Kansas City's Health Sciences Library (HSL), they may use the following methods:

Internet

You may go to http://library.umkc.edu/forms/illcheckpage.html and use this form to submit your requests.

Ovid

Once you have done your search in Ovid, and have selected the documents, use the Citation Manager to order the documents. Be sure that you have checked that your local library does not have these items.

Fax

Only ILL forms from HSL will be accepted. All forms must be filled out completely, including the student's signature.

Loansome Doc (LD)

To use LD, students should call Jonice Rogers at 816-235-1878. St. Joseph and Joplin students should add DE next to their name when registering.

Phone

In special circumstances, phone requests will be accepted. Only two requests per individual will be allowed; this policy will be strictly enforced.

HSL has one method to deliver the articles to students.
