The Health Sciences Library provides 15 public access computers for UMKC faculty, staff, and students. Members of the public are also welcome to use our databases or search our holdings through the MERLIN library catalog. Just beyond the computers are group study tables. Study areas are also provided in the reading room (south end of the library), in the individual study carrels (northwest corner of the library), in the lounge area (northeast corner) and in the private group study room (northwest corner). |

UMKC Residents as well as all UMKC faculty, staff, and students have access to a wide range of biomedical databases including MEDLINE, Web of Science, Biological Abstracts, Micromedex, Alt-Health Watch, BioethicsLine, EBM Reviews Best Evidence, Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, HealthSTAR, CINAHL. Over 100 peer-reviewed biomedical journals are available full-text on-line for UMKC affiliates. For more information about full-text journals at UMKC, please click here. |

The Health Sciences Library staff is always happy to help you find what you need. If you would like information on how to better use UMKC databases and resources, please ask a librarian. A reference librarian is normally available from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. If the Reference Desk is not staffed, address questions to the Circulation Desk or contact the librarians by phone or email. |

In the southwest corner of the library, the new journals are displayed. Journals are arranged alphabetically. (This picture is facing west.) After the new journals shelves are the reference books, then the library "stacks" begin. The library stacks include our collection of books and just past the books, the full journal collection. All issues of journals (except the most recent issues) are shelved alphabetically in the stacks. If you need assistance finding library materials, please do not hesitate to ask a library staff member. |
