You can find books at UMKC and beyond through the following resources.
UMKC's Library Catalog (MERLIN) tells you what books we have here in the University Libraries. (It also includes other items such as scores, films, sound recordings, journals, government documents, etc.)
For help searching, see our How Do I Use the Library Catalog (MERLIN) Guide.
This hyperlinked Library of Congress Classification Outline will give you an idea of where different subjects are shelved in the library.
MERLIN is also the combined catalog of all four University of Missouri campuses. You can request books from the other campuses and they arrive at UMKC in 2 - 4 days.
For help requesting books from All MERLIN, see the Placing Holds page of our How Do I Use the Library Catalog (MERLIN) Guide.
MOBIUS is the combined catalog of more than 60 college, university, and public libraries in Missouri. You can request books from other libraries in MOBIUS and they arrive at UMKC in 2 - 4 days.
For help requesting books from MOBIUS, see the Placing Holds page of our How Do I Use the Library Catalog (MERLIN) Guide.
WorldCat is a combined catalog of over 60,000 libraries worldwide. It's a great place to look for more books if you can't find what you need in MERLIN and MOBIUS. Books not available through MERLIN and MOBIUS can be requested through your ILL@UMKC account.
Instructions on requesting books through ILL directly from WorldCat can be found on the ILL FAQ (use instructions for FirstSearch databases).
