Miller Nichols Library Reserve Request Forms
Miller Nichols Library owned materials: UMKC Faculty may place books, music scores, video recordings, and sound recordings owned by the Miller Nichols Library on reserve by submitting the information electronically to the Access Services Department using the
form below.
Personally Owned Materials: Personally owned copies of books may be brought to the Access Service Desk to be placed on traditional reserve. Please include the printer friendly version from the
printer friendly reserve request form with the book.
Photocopies of Articles and Chapters of Books: As of
summer 2008, all photocopied materials will be placed on electronic reserve. A password is
REQUIRED for all electronic reserves. Please choose a password for your students that will enable them to easily access your e-reserve page and include this password in your syllabus. Please provide citation information for each article and chapter submitted. Space is provided for this citation information on the
e-reserve form.
Omission of this information will delay processing of reserves. This citation information can be photocopied and submitted with the reserve materials as an alternative to filling out the citation information on the form. Please follow the reserve
guidelines when submitting items. The Campus Bookstore (235-1404) can provide information about course packets.
If the material needed for reserve is not owned by the Miller Nichols Library,
please submit a purchase request for the item using the University Libraries
Electronic Purchase Request Form at
https://library.umkc.edu/forms/pur.htm. We can process your order on a rush basis.
In order to make sure we can process reserve materials in time for your classes,
we ask that you provide information and materials two weeks before the beginning
of the semester. Access Services and Music/Media personnel will
locate and process the books, music scores, video tapes, and sound recordings
you wish to put on reserve for your classes in the order received and as quickly
as possible.
We hope you find this helpful and will be glad to hear from you if you have
suggestions. If you have any questions, please call or send email to the Access
Services Department of the Miller Nichols Library at (816) 235-1526 or Access
Services.
