Find Films, DVDs, and Videos

The University Libraries have lots of films, including feature films, musical performances, and documentaries. Find them in the Library Catalog (MERLIN) using one of the methods below.

How to search the Library Catalog (MERLIN) for films, DVDs, or videos.

  1. Enter the Library Catalog (MERLIN).
  2. Perform your search
  3. Select the Modify Search or Limit/Sort Search button at the top of the screen.
  4. Under the heading Material Type choose 'PROJ MEDIUM' from the drop-down menu.

 

Browse by genre

Click a link below to view a list of films UMKC has in a specific genre. The searches may include sound recordings and books.

  • To identify films, look for the term "videorecording" or "motion picture" after the title.
  • To identify the format of a film, click the title and look for a note in the record saying DVD or VHS.

 

Foreign films

 

Find other foreign films by performing a MERLIN search with the subject heading "motion pictures" followed by the name of the country or area. For example, use "Motion pictures Africa" or "Motion pictures Czechoslovakia." (MERLIN subject search)
