A collection of American Girl magazines stored at the Miller Nichols Library gives a look back at the trends of days gone by and the women who wore them and decorated their homes with them.

"Goldin" Age of Radio Blog promotes collection highlights

The Golden Age of radio was the period from approximately 1935 through the 1950s when radio flourished as the central form of media; 2 out of 3 American households had one, and a 1947 survey by C.E. Hooper found that 82% of Americans were listeners. Programs ranging from variety shows to classical music performances, soap operas to panel discussions dominated the information and entertainment industries. Notable figures such as Edward R. Murrow, Bing Crosby, Arturo Toscanini, and Bob Hope all made significant contributions to the medium.
