Stop and Smell the Roses, Man

Our newest exhibit in the Miller Nichols Library will make you want to "Stop and Smell the Roses, Man!"

Graphic Artist and soon-to-be UMKC graduate, Alexa Rose Di Trolio, has displayed the culmination of her Senior thesis on the first floor of the library for our UMKC community to appreciate during the most hectic part of the semester.

"'Stop and Smell the Roses Man' is an exhibit for the students, faculty and employees of UMKC to take a moment for themselves, get lost, and to realize that everything is going to be alright in this life."

These works are a product of Di Trolio's own experience with stress. "When I approached the idea for my senior thesis, It came from the chaos that surrounded my life at the time," Di Trolio writes, "I realized the only thing that could calm me down in the hardest of times was working on my canvases...Our overall mental state of mind is the most important component of our lives, and we must remind ourselves daily to stop, and smell the roses, man."

Come see the exhibit on the first floor of the Miller Nichols Library next to the service desk, up now through finals!
