Wireless Internet in Miller Nichols Library
The UMKC University Libraries offers wireless connectivity for UMKC students, faculty, and staff. Wireless Internet access is available for UMKC-affiliated patrons on all five floors of the library.
In the Miller Nichols Library, the strongest connections will be found in the Information Commons on the first floor, the Music/Media area on the ground floor, and the lounge areas on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floors (the areas directly south of the entrance to the stairwells and the elevator hallway). Wireless connectivity may be available in other areas of the library, but can be weaker and less dependable.
Only UMKC students, faculty, and staff may use the wireless network and it is necessary to have activated a UMKC single sign on account. UMKC Information Services offers instructions for connecting to the wireless network and these are found at: http://r1.umkc.edu/wireless/.
Wireless printing also is available in the Miller Nichols Library and Health Sciences Library. To use, log in to the IS website using your UMKC single sign on username and password, upload your file, and scan your ID to print. Wireless Printing uses your quota and RooBucks just like printing from a computer in the library; the only difference is how you print.
