To Find Articles

Remote (off-campus) access to databases is available only to UMKC students, faculty, and staff. All other users must access online resources within the Libraries. Begin searching by selecting a database. After selection you will be prompted to provide a UMKC Single Sign-On user name and password OR a 9-digit UMKC ID number followed by the letter k (example: 0123456789k) and last name, as needed.

Serials Solutions

Serials Solutions is a tool to locate full-text journals, magazines and newspapers in UMKC licensed databases. Since not all electronic journals are cataloged in MERLIN, you need to check Serials Solutions as well to make sure you are not missing the journal.

  ABI/INFORM indexes and abstracts publications in the area of business and management, with full text available for over 850 titles. Publications range from magazines to trade publications to scholarly journals. Full text is also available for the Wall Street Journal.

  Selected full text 1922 - present; coverage varies by title.
  "Provides full text for nearly 8,350 scholarly business journals and other sources, including full text for more than 1,100 scholarly business publications. This database offers information in nearly every area of business including management, economics, finance, accounting, international business, and more.... The database also includes …country economic reports from the EIU, Global Insight, ICON Group, and CountryWatch” as well as the OECD. Detailed company profiles for the world's 10,000 largest companies are generated from Datamonitor reports incorporating SWOT analysis. Market research reports emanate largely from Gartner. Daily Stock Price Record (Standard & Poor's) Standard & Poor's issues separate publications under this title for the New York Stock Exchange, the American Stock Exchange and the NASDAQ. Several decades of daily company stock prices are included.	Locally available through the Johnson County Public Library at their Central Resource Library. Also held at MU-Columbia.
Dividend Record (Standard & Poor's) Records dividends for companies on the American, Boston, Cincinnati, Chicago, Dusseldorf, Frankfort, Intermountain, London, Manila, Melbourne, Montreal, New York, NASDAQ, OTC, Pacific, Philadelphia, Tokyo, Toronto and Vancouver exchanges. Mergent Dividend Achievers Fifteen years of trading volume in chart format. Interim per share earnings and dividends for last four years; annual per share earnings and dividends for last seven years. Mergent's Handbook of Common Stocks Provides recent price (at time of publication), P/E (price/earnings) ratio, annual high/low price range, previous year end price, fifteen year trading volume chart, annual price range for ten years, average annual P/E ratio for ten years, average annual dividend and earnings per share for ten years. Statistical Service. Security Price Index Record (Standard & Poor's) This source serves as a major comparison of the performance of individual stocks with an industy group. Gives daily price indexes for approximately 134 categories of companies. Includes the famous S&P 500 Composite, Industrials, Transportation, Utilities and Financials indexes. Stocks, Bonds, Bills, and Inflation 2003 Yearbook: Market Results for 1926-2002 Provides the history of the returns on the captial markets in the United States. Data is given on the aggregate level (usually large company, small company, growth and value, long term bond, intermediate term bonds and bills); no company specific data is given. Value Line Research Center (Value Line) Current edition.      Save to del.icio.us A 1700-stock universe is ranked for Timeliness™—relative price performance in the year ahead. Data includes recent price, P/E (price/earnings) ratio, beta, dividends and earnings per share, and many other price and yield related figures. Profiles include three-to-five year projections. Every week about 135 stocks are updated. All stocks receive updating in a thirteen-week period. Includes mutual funds, ETFs, convertibles, small and mid-cap stocks.	Online
