as anything related to mankind's "beliefs and practices in relation
to God, gods, or the supernatural" (Asheim, 1956, p. 2). "Religious
Studies" is a term that may likewise be understood as anything related
to the study of those beliefs or practices, often from an interdisciplinary
perspective. The resources listed in this guide include a number of broad
treatments of religion in America that may lead you to more specific resources
relevant to the study of any particular aspect of religion.
