To Find Articles

Remote (off-campus) access to databases is available only to UMKC students, faculty, and staff. All other users must access online resources within the Libraries. Begin searching by selecting a database. After selection you will be prompted to provide a UMKC Single Sign-On user name and password OR a 9-digit UMKC ID number followed by the letter k (example: 0123456789k) and last name, as needed.

Rand McNally Commercial Atlas and Marketing Guide
This guide uses census data to make projections, and assess consumer spending in metropolitan areas. Very graphical.

Direct Marketing Market Place - Provides information on approximately 10,500 organizations in the direct marketing industry and more than 17,000 key personnel. Covers direct marketers, service firms and suppliers, creative services, associations, courses and events, and includes a bibliography. There are indices for firms, people, and geographic location.

Advertising Red Books: Advertisers and Agencies - Known as the Advertisers Red Book, it lists approximately 25,000 companies in the United States and Canada that spend at least $200,000 on advertising. Information about the company is provided including the name of the advertising agency used.

Advertising Red Books: Agencies - Known as the Agency Red Book, this directory lists facts about advertising agencies and their branches. Inclusion criteria includes agencies that have at least one client spending $200,000 on media per year. Listings provide number of employees, clients, and key personnel. An index of associations related to the advertising industry is included with the mission statement of each.
